Adrenal glands are a pair of endocrine glands located above the kidneys which produce a wide variety of hormones like adrenaline, cortisol, and aldosterone. Each gland has an outer cortex and an inner medulla producing these said hormones. The cortex of the adrenal gland produces hormones called corticosteroids, mineralocorticoids and androgens and the inner medulla produce hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine. With the dysfunction of the adrenal gland, a number of diseases may ensue. Some are caused due to the excess production of cortisol which in turn leads to the adrenal disorders like Cushing's syndrome. The condition caused by lack of production of this hormone (cortisol) called Addison's diseases.  


Common symptoms of adrenal disease with excess production of hormones are:

• Purplish skin stretch marks, Acne

• Anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and fatigue
