Turmeric for Diabetics

So, does adding turmeric to your cuisines offer health benefits? Unfortunately, turmeric isn’t giving any benefit through that. The reason behind this is there is no curcumin present in that turmeric. The turmeric we buy in the market has been extracted from its curcumin after which it can either be organic turmeric or colour-adulterated turmeric.

There are also talks on using turmeric for controlling diabetes. So, is turmeric good For diabetics? People usually say turmeric is very good and decreases insulin resistance. However, it is important to understand that the curcumin component does it all. As I mentioned earlier, the turmeric that we usually buy will not contain curcumin.

Nowadays, doctors recommend curcumin capsules that are easily available in pharmacies. But ensure not to buy it over the count. Also, people who take blood thinners, antiplatelets, etc. should use less of this.

To get the most benefits from the medicine, take one capsule per day or mix the powdered form in water. Don't use it just with water because it won't get absorbed. It needs fat. For better absorption, add a pinch of black pepper to turmeric water or drink it with milk or buttermilk on an empty stomach in the morning. Ensure the turmeric contains curcumin for effectiveness. That type of turmeric is also available in the market. But it is a bit expensive. Or you can consume the capsules.
