Thyroid Cancer: Symptoms and Treatment Options

The thyroid gland consists of two lobes located on either side of the windpipe whose purpose is to release hormones. Thyroid cancer occurs when the genetic material of cells in the gland become damaged or changed, producing mutations that affect normal cell growth and division.
