Dr. Karthik Subramaniam, MD, DM (Endo) underwent his undergraduate training (MBBS) in Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai.  He was invited to present a paper at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Banglore during his first year of MBBS training.

He was awarded gold medals in the fields of Anatomy, Biochemistry and Pharmacology and won the bronze medal in Pathology. While in the medical college, he was voted the best outgoing student. He pursued his MD in General Medicine in the same college during which he won a national competition organized by Christian Medical College, Vellore. He later underwent a 6 months training in the Department of Endocrinology at CMC, Vellore. He completed 3 years of training (D.M) in Adult & Pediatric Endocrinology from the prestigious Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow. He won the best prize for the poster presentation in the National Endocrine Conference (ESICON). He has done studies In Graves Disease, Type I Diabetes and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). He has presented posters in international diabetes conference (ISPAD 2018). He also has special interests in the fields of pediatric endocrine disorders, bone and mineral metabolism, pituitary, adrenal and hypertensive disorders
